The TRUE Project X offers excellent puck feel and a whippy flex that some players love, but it suffers from severe blade durability issues. Multiple reviewers report blade cracks, separations, and heel breaks occurring within days to weeks of use, often shortly after warranty expiration. While the stick's lightweight design and shooting performance are praised by those whose sticks survive, the consistent failure pattern makes it unreliable for regular play.

Pros

  • + Great puck feel
  • + Whippy flex
  • + Excellent shooting
  • + Responsive shot

Cons

  • - Blade cracks easily
  • - Heel breaks quickly
  • - Poor value for durability

    Nice stick, incredibly fragile

A good stick while it lasts. Durability is major concern here. Like other reviews, the fail point on these seems to be the blade. My son's (14U) blade separated in different places rendering the stick useless. He did enjoy using the stick and it has performed very well up until the point of failure.

Broke the 3rd time it was used

My son loved how light the stick was and how it felt. Unfortunately it broke the 3rd time he ever used it, while taking a wrist shot.

    Not a great stick

Perspective: I play lower level beer league, and have played for 20 plus years. Weight: This stick is LIGHT, in my opinion too light. It feels like you're holding a Styrofoam stick. I pay special attention to weight because I'm an older player with some wrist arthritis, but this stick is so light that it feels weird. Shooting: Nothing spectacular, my shots felt weaker over my previous stick-Bauer Hyperlight. Puck handling: I use a T92, good all around curve. The puck feel and control felt good with this stick. Durability: Terrible. Lost its pop quickly and broke within a few months (maybe 15 games).

    Cool me once

Blade cracked just outside of warranty. Kid loves the stick. But I said only if the give them to you.

    break easily

they are great to shoot but break so easily in the blade

    Great, but not for long

True Project X is very light, has a great feel for the puck and good shooting release. However, the blade is not durable. The bottom of the blade cracked during the second week of practice. Only used on the ice a few times and cracked on the second competitive practice. A few days past the warranty period. My brother's cracked in the same spot after 4-5 games and 4-5 practices. True needs to figure out their durability issues with sticks.

    My Son loves it

Great stick. Lots of flex and feel for the puck. My son has been using it about a year.

great stick but not worth the price

Great stick but the bottom wears out way to fast for the price

    Worth it

Have had the stick for a few months. Great puck control, super light weight, whippy.

    great but not worth it

ok, nicest stick i"ve ever had... BUT the blade broke so easily within 45 days. It is super light but not worth it. Im very mad that it was so poorly made. All other sticks i've had always last a long time and i have only broken true sticks before. So thats saying something
